How to Choose the Best One for You
Are you in the process of moving and need to get an estimate for the cost? If so, you may be wondering what the different types of estimates are. There are three main types of moving estimates: binding, non-binding, and binding not to exceed. It can be confusing to figure out which one is best for you, but don’t worry! We’re here to help. London Ontario Movers will discuss the differences between these three types of estimates and help you decide which one is right for your move.
The first thing you need to know is that a binding estimate is a set price. This means that no matter what, the company cannot charge you more than the binding estimate. The binding estimate is based on the weight of your belongings and the distance of your move. If you have a lot of heavy furniture, the company will charge you more because it will take more time and effort to move your belongings. On the other hand, if you have very little furniture or your furniture is very light, the company may charge you less.
The second type of estimate is a non-binding estimate. Unlike a binding estimate, a non-binding estimate is not set in stone. The company can charge you more or less than the non-binding estimate depending on the actual weight of your belongings and the distance of your move. The non-binding estimate is usually based on an estimate of the weight of your belongings.
The third and final type of estimate is a binding not to exceed estimate. This type of estimate is similar to a binding estimate in that it is set in stone and cannot be exceeded. However, there is one key difference. With a binding not to exceed estimate, if the actual weight of your belongings is less than what was estimated, you will only be charged for the lower amount.
So, which type of moving estimate should you choose? If you want a set price that cannot be exceeded, then a binding estimate is right for you.
